Trash and Recycling Collection Guidelines

The Royal Oaks Residential Community Owners Association (RCOA) is committed to maintaining a clean, attractive, and well-maintained community. Residents are requested to comply with the following trash and recycling collection guidelines provided by Texas Pride Disposal.


Solid Waste Collection Services

Collection Schedule

  • Garbage Collection: Monday and Thursday
  • Recycling Collection: Monday

To ensure timely collection, all trash and recyclable materials must be placed at the designated collection location no later than 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled service day.

Container Placement and Storage

  • Trash and recycling containers should be placed in a location visible from the street, preferably in front of the garage.
  • In accordance with the Association’s governing documents, all trash and recycling containers must be screened from public view when not awaiting collection and stored:
    • Behind a privacy fence and/or inside the garage.
  • Residents are required to not to place trash containers, recycling containers, landscape bags, or other refuse materials at the curb more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled collection day.

Holiday Collection Schedule

Texas Pride Disposal observes the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

When an observed holiday falls on a regularly scheduled collection day, service will not be provided on that holiday. Collection will resume on the next regularly scheduled service day unless a eblast is distribute out to residents for additional updates from texas pride.

For example, if a holiday falls on a Monday, Monday’s garbage and recycling collection will be deferred until the next scheduled collection day. Residents should plan accordingly and place materials out for collection on the revised service date.

Please note that collection times may vary following a holiday due to increased service volumes.


Container Capacity and Weight Restrictions

Texas Pride Disposal will collect household waste placed in:

  • Personal containers not exceeding 96 gallons in capacity or 50 pounds in weight; or
  • Trash bags not exceeding 50 pounds each.

Residents are requested to comply with these limitations to ensure safe and efficient collection service.


Yard Waste Collection

Yard waste may be placed out for collection on regularly scheduled service days.

Preparation Requirements

  • Yard waste should be placed in bags or containers.
  • Tree branches and limbs must be:
    • Stacked in individual piles not exceeding 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet; or
    • Tied and bundled in lengths not exceeding 4 feet and weighing no more than 50 pounds per bundle.

Heavy Trash and Bulk Waste

Heavy trash and bulk waste items may be collected on any regularly scheduled collection day.

Collection Limitations

Residents are requested to limit bulk waste to two (2) items per collection.

Examples of acceptable bulk items include, but are not limited to:

  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Carpet and flooring materials
  • Other large household items

Materials Excluded from Regular Collection

The following materials cannot be collected through regular residential waste service:

  • Dirt, rocks, brick, and concrete
  • Unbundled debris or branches
  • Liquid paint
  • Fuels and oils
  • Pesticides and fertilizers
  • Tires
  • Batteries

Recycling Services

Royal Oaks RCOA encourages all residents to participate in the community recycling program as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible waste management.

Recycling Collection Schedule

  • Collection Day: Every Monday
  • Recyclable materials must be placed out for collection no later than 8:00 a.m.

Recycling Containers

Residents should place recyclable materials in the recycling container provided by Royal Oaks RCOA.

Additional recyclable materials may be placed in:

  • Extra recycling bins
  • Boxes
  • Bags
  • Other containers clearly labeled “RECYCLE”

  • Envelopes
  • Catalogs
  • File folders
  • Computer and office paper
  • Construction paper
  • Gift wrap
  • Paper grocery bags
  • Beverage cartons and boxes
  • Shoe boxes
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Egg cartons
  • Phone books
  • Paper towel rolls
  • Wax-coated paperboard containers

Plastics

  • Plastics #1 through #7 (excluding Styrofoam)
  • Plastic bottles and jugs
  • Plastic containers
  • Plastic bags
  • Clean plastic kitchenware

Metals

  • Aluminum cans
  • Tin and steel cans
  • Aluminum foil
  • Pie tins
  • Metal lids
  • Pots and pans
  • Light scrap metal

Glass

  • Glass bottles
  • Glass jars

Non-Acceptable Recyclable Materials

The following items should be disposed of with regular household trash and should not be placed in recycling containers:

  • Styrofoam
  • Window glass
  • Ceramics
  • Dishes
  • Air filters
  • Soiled pizza boxes
  • Used paper towels
  • Light bulbs
